Supporting Your Mental Health During the Holiday Season!

As we approach the holiday season, it is important to remember that it is very common to feel added stress — and this stress can worsen symptoms of a mental health condition, such as depression or anxiety, or a substance use disorder.

Good Morning Community! We hope you had a great Thanksgiving! As we get ready for Christmas remember lottery tickets are NOT stocking stuffers! 🎄

STUDIES HAVE SHOWN THAT CHILDREN WHO ARE INTRODUCED TO GAMBLING BY AGE 12 ARE FOUR TIMES MORE LIKELY TO DEVELOP A GAMBLING PROBLEM LATER IN LIFE.

If you or someone you know is struggling with a gambling addiction there are resources for them! Call 1-800-GAMBLER for help or connect with your local Community Services!

November is National Native American Heritage Month ❤

For almost one hundred years, Americans, both Indian and non-Indian, have urged that there be a permanently designated place on the calendar to honor the contributions, achievements, sacrifices, and cultural and historical legacy of the original inhabitants of what is now the United States and their descendants: the American Indian and Alaska Native people.

A great big THANK YOU to Double C Cafe for allowing us to show our gratitude to our area veterans by treating them to breakfast. Tamara Gail Mays and her employees were remarkable! Thank you to Alleghany Highlands Community Services staff, Lynn Brackenridge, Reanna Wyatt, Lisa Pritt, and Kenny Bess for all of their support as servers, smiling faces, and clean up crew. Shout out to Andrew Crawford for his assistance with unloading, loading, and giving away our Thank You items. It was a priviledge to see so many of our community members come out for this event and we can't wait until next year! #VeteransDay #thankyouveterans ... See MoreSee Less

National Drug and Alcohol Fact Week is March 22 through 28. We are here to shatter the myths surrounding drug and alcohol use and will be sharing facts all week!

Fact 1: Research has shown that students who had already used any type of e-cigarette by the time they started 9th grade were more likely to start smoking conventional cigarettes within the next year.

If you or a loved one needs help with nicotine addiction treatment, talk to your doctor, reach out to your local CSB,or find more info at:
